Due after the first test
The due date is shown on the inspection sticker on your rear number plate — the month at the 12 o'clock position, the year in the centre.

Fine for overrunning
The HU must not be overrun. From the first month after the due date it's 15 €, from 2 months 25 € — and from 8 months even a point on your record plus a 75 € fine.

Avoid failing
A quick check before the HU pays off: do all lights work? Is the windscreen free of cracks? Are the tyres in good condition? You can fix small defects in advance.
